Traditional Masses |

Adventus! (I'm pretending to be smart. That's the Latin root for Advent.) Sadly, my generation didn't get schooled or churched in Latin. But I'm excited to see young Catholics embracing this beautiful, universal "language of the Church"—and even experiencing the traditional liturgy! This week, we report on Catholic students who plan to "wear the veil" to Mass on Monday, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. And college chaplains tell us that students are showing a growing appreciation for traditional Masses. It's all part of their yearning for the full richness of the Faith… and a rejection of the watered-down theology and uninspiring liturgy at too many Catholic schools and colleges. And it's why we're cosponsoring the Sacra Liturgia conference in New York on June 1-4; details to come soon. Meanwhile, there's an apparently dreadful conference going on right now at Notre Dame on "Gender and Childhood". Another Catholic college has put its religious freedom in jeopardy by allowing the federal government to regulate its employee relations, while more courageous colleges continue to fight the National Labor Relations Board. And University of Scranton professors support a colleague's same-sex marriage. May God help us, and may He bless you in this Advent season! As we continue to promote and defend faithful Catholic education, will you financially support us in this work? Sincerely yours in Christ, Patrick Reilly President

Welcome to my Blog! I read where there was a need for English Propers for the Traditional (1962 Missale Romanum - Tridentine) Latin Mass, so I will try posting the prayers and readings each day, if they are available. I will also post some other writings regarding the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the greatest Act of Worship we can offer to Almighty God and the closest we can get to Heaven!

Please no anonymous comments. I require at least some way for people to address each other personally and courteously. Having some name or handle helps.
