Institutum Christi Regis Summi Sacerdotis General House Happy Ascension Day!   “Let us think upon the fact the He who ascended to heaven full of sweetness will return with exigence. This is, dear brothers, what must guide your actions - mediate thereupon continually.     Even if you are tossed about in the turmoil of the affaires of this world, cast from this day forth the anchor of hope in the eternal fatherland (Heb. 6,19). May your soul seek only the true light.   We have just heard that the Lord has gone up to Heaven. Let us think seriously about what we believe. Despite the weakness of our human nature which holds us here below, may Love draw us after Him, because we can be sure that He who has inspired us with this desire, Our Lord Jesus Christ, will not deceive us in our hope." Saint Gregory the Grand,  Sermons on the Gospels, n. 29 ­   Dear Friends,   Our Saviour has left us and is henceforth enthroned at the right hand of Our Heavenly Father. Saint Pius X teaches in his Catechism that “Jesus Christ ascended into heaven to take possession of the Kingdom He had merited by His death; to prepare the place of our glory, and to be our Mediator and Advocate with the Father, and to send the Holy Ghost upon His Apostles.”   Let us be joyful and, as we ask in today’s collect, let us also live spiritually in heavenly dwellings, lifting up our hearts to God. May we not let ourselves be distracted by the pleasures of a terrestrial world where Christ is no longer.   The whole community here at Gricigliano wishes you a joyous and holy feast of the Ascension and assures you of their prayers.
