The English Indult
In
one of the great ironies of history, it was a group of mostly British
non-Catholics who petitioned Pope Paul VI to save the Latin Mass in
1970. Dr. Joseph Shaw is the 43 year old Chairman of the Latin Mass
Society of England and Wales. He teaches Philosophy at St Benet’s Hall
in Oxford, and relates this fascinating story in an exclusive Regina
Magazine interview.

Update on the Latin Mass in England
Founded
in 1965, the Latin Mass Society of England and Wales is the world’s
oldest group organized to preserve the Mass of Ages. They enjoy support
from some of England’s culturati, but in truth the Society faces formidable headwinds, too.

One
of the most critical things that the Latin Mass Society of England and
Wales does is organize superb training for both priests and altar
servers who want to learn the Mass of Ages.

Walking for the Conversion of England
It may astonish
some to know that this August, Catholics from all over the world are
walking through the beautiful English countryside on pilgrimage for the
conversion of England.

This
year, French Catholics welcomed more than 10,000 pilgrims from all over
the world as they filled the ancient Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris for
Mass before they headed to Chartres on a three day walking pilgrimage.
